Convenient and Secluded

Overhead view of Hiawatha Hideaway

Near the end of a road surrounded by lush forest, Hiawatha Hideaway is the perfect combination of convenience and solitude. With two spacious decks surrounded by tall trees, it's almost like you're in a giant treehouse. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature, with birds, foxes, racoons, deer, and other wildlife all around. If you're here in May or June, watch fireflies dance the night away.

While feeling worlds away from the hustle and bustle of normal life, Caryville, Jacksboro, and LaFollette are only a few minutes away.

Walmart is nearby, with a large supply of almost anything you may need. Food City is also a great choice, just a bit further down the road.

Liquor Barn has a great selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Just turn left and look for the big sign when you hit the end of Ridge Road.

Restaurants are nearby, from fast food to sit-down. We really enjoy Coal Creek Smokehouse, just a short drive away in Rocky Top. Be sure to try their Bacon Bouquet and spoonbread with some of the best BBQ you've ever had.

Knoxville is only a 30 minute drive if you crave something fancier, or just want a night on the town.

You will not find a better or more convenient location than Hiawatha Hideaway for your Norris Lake Tennessee vacation!

Room for Everyone

4 Bedrooms / 4.5 Baths - Plenty of room for family and friends. Sleep up to 12 adults comfortably, 16 with kids or couch surfing. Each bedroom includes a queen bed. Downstairs has queen-over-queen bunk beds, a double trundle bed, and a large sofa. Two leather sofas upstairs can also be used for sleeping. Three bedrooms are masters, with their own bathroom and shower. A shared bathroom is located on each level, one with a Jacuzzi tub for a long soak after a hard day playing on the lake!

Upstairs includes two master bedrooms, each with their own shower and outside door to the upper deck. There is also a half-bath on this floor near the kitchen. The upstairs living room includes a 65" TV which can be seen from the dining room table, plus two couches, and double doors to the upper deck. The front door leads up outside steps to the upper driveway, which is not recommended for parking at this time. The lower driveway has more room for parking and easier access without any steps.

Downstairs includes two more bedrooms, one with it's own bathroom and shower, but no door opening to the deck. The other has no bathroom but includes a door to the lower deck, right by the tram. All bedrooms have walk-in closets.

Hillside Tram

Tram parked at lower deck ready to go down

Up to four passengers can safely and effortlessly glide down to the lake where a fire pit and dock paradise await. No need to hike back up the hill when you need a refill!

Important Tram rules:

    • Maximum weight limit of 750lb. This includes coolers, firewood, and passengers. Exceeding weight limit may engage safety brake.
    • Sit still while tram is moving. Bouncing on tram may cause emergency brake to engage.
    • Always close tram door while tram is in use, and after exiting.
    • Children may not use the tram without direct adult supervision.

Ignoring these rules may result in waiting for hours for someone to provide assistance. Keep the load well under maximum and take multiple trips. Play it safe and enjoy the scenery!

COVID-19

COVID-19

At Hiawatha Hideaway our first priority is the health of our guests! Our cleaning crew is trained and experienced in COVID-19 cleaning protocols, using the same cleaning methods as hospitals, nursing homes, and other sensitive commercial areas.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have temporarily removed all decorative pillows, shams, comforters, and quilts that cannot effectively be cleaned between every guest.

During the pandemic, clean sheets and pillows will be provided. You will need to bring your own comforter or quilt. We understand this may be an inconvenience, but our goal is a clean, safe environment for  your family and friends during these trying times.
